Sosefina Leapaga is a single mother of 5 from American Samoa. She was so excited to receive her glasses because she could not afford insurance to see an optometrist. She uses to drive and unfortunately had to stop due to lack of eye vision. She overheard me telling a friend about free eye glasses. “Just thinking of you today because it’s cloudy outside and my glasses are helping me feel safe while I drive. I had lasik surgery a few years ago but it did not work out well for me. “Andrea is a recipient of eyeglasses from AINAK. She was finding it difficult to follow her lessons during the remote school year, so her school district called AINAK and asked us to help her. Additionally, she was in a difficult situation since she was on the food voucher program in her school and her parents could not read or write outside of Spanish.

After her visit with the optometrist, she was diagnosed with a condition called astigmatism. However, after receiving a new pair of prescription eyeglasses from AINAK, she can stay confident that her eye condition will improve.
